April 29, 2008 The Board of Directors of
the South San Joaquin Irrigation District met in Special Session in their
chambers at the hour of 8:00 a.m.
Upon roll call the following
members were noted present: DIRECTORS:
KAMPER
KUIL
SCHULZ
ROOS
ABSENT: HOLBROOK Also present were
Secretary/Manager Shields, District Counsel Emrick, Utility Systems Director
Battles, and Communications Coordinator Saylor. President Kuil called the
meeting to order and asked for public comment.
There being none he asked the Board to consider the following: Approving Comprehensive
Memorandum of Understanding (the MOU) between South San Joaquin Irrigation
District and Local Union 1245 of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
AFL-CIO, term of contract January 2008 – December 2012.
Motion by Director Schulz, seconded by Director Roos, and unanimously
carried, to approve the MOU as submitted. President Kuil called for
closed session. District Counsel
Emrick said two items will be discussed in closed session.
Conference
with legal counsel, existing litigation, Gov. Code, S. 54956.
Conference
with labor negotiator. Agency
negotiators: Lee Clark, Upon returning from closed
session General Counsel Emrick reported the following action was taken in closed
session. Motion by Director Kuil,
seconded by Director Schulz, and unanimously carried, that in light of the
Appellate Court decision staff is directed to work with LAFCo. There being no further
business to come before the Board it was moved by Director Kamper, seconded by
Director Roos, and unanimously carried, to adjourn to May 13, 2009 at 9:00 a.m.
