The Power of Water... Celebrating a Century of Service 1909-2009

Conservation Stewardship Program

The Robert O. Schulz Solar Farm was dedicated on July 18, 2008. On line since May 15, the Solar Project is exceeding all expectations.  The system was built by SunTechnics of Sacramento.  It is comprised of 6,720 photovoltaic panels set on 7 acres of land next to the District's Nick C. DeGroot Water Treatment Plant on Dodds Rd. in Oakdale, CA.  The Solar Farm has already  produced over 1 million kw.  The power produced by the Solar Farm is being used to offset the power used by the Water Treatment Plant.
